PPI Claims
Usually taken out alongside loans, credit cards and finance for high value purchases, PPI is designed to cover your monthly repayments should you be unable to pay them.
What is a PPI claim?
A PPI claim is a claim for a refund of the money you have paid out for the controversial insurance product, Payment Protection Insurance (PPI).
PPI is controversial as it has been deemed a product not fit for purpose. A useless product that has been poorly designed and is expensive. PPI has also been routinely mis-sold over the last six years by many major lenders to customers whom the insurance was not suitable.
The intention of PPI is to pay out if you are unable to work due to suffering an accident, illness or injury or if you are made redundant. However despite PPI being designed to cover you in these circumstances, the chances of PPI paying out are very slim, this is because PPI was basically sold to anyone it could be sold to, even if it meant the salesperson had to resort to using unscrupulous sales techniques. Selling the insurance to any customer meant PPI was sold to many people for whom the cover was vastly unsuitable.
PPI mis-selling was not just a crime committed by small time lenders, many major lenders and high street lenders have all been found guilty of mis-selling the insurance. Lenders including Alliance & Leicester, Egg, Capital One and HSBC have been fined millions of pounds for mis-selling PPI.
We can help customers who have been mis-sold the insurance with claims for PPI.
